The JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Trailer Is Here
Resident Jurassic World apologist here to bring you the first of what will presumably be many Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailers. Though even the most enthusiastic of Jurassic Park fans can admit how ridiculous the title sounds, it does, at least, bring in a new premise. Claire, Owen, and their team of what we can assume are Dinosaur Rights folk (and maybe a scientist or two) return to Isla Nublar to save the remaining creatures on the island from a volcanic eruption. That sounds re-goddamn-diculous, and so long as they lean into it in the right way it could be what ends up making the movie great.
Enough exposition. Check out the trailer!
Objectively, that's not a great first trailer. The editing's wonky, it doesn't build a lot of interest in the characters themselves, and Doctor Ian Malcolm seems to be protesting against rescuing dinosaurs. You'd think a guy would have gotten over one measley T-Rex trying to eat him decades ago by now.
If this first trailer's to be believed, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom may end up being just as messy as the first. But, at the end of the day, it's still a movie filled with dinosaurs! This one's even going to have a big old volcano erupt. If those things sound like they're up you're alley, you're probably really going to dig this flick. If you're rolling your eyes, don't worry. The rest of the BMD crew is joining you. Either way, we want to hear your thoughts on this first offering in the comments!
