New BLACK PANTHER Spot Teases Another New Kendrick Lamar Song

Plus: a bunch of new footage.

Black Panther is just over a month away from release, and we’ve finally come down sufficiently from our Star Wars high to welcome our next hyper-anticipated blockbuster. Marvel understands our struggle, which is likely why it dropped the following 90-second TV spot today:

“Third world,” Martin Freeman? Please.

There’s a bunch of new material in this trailer, if I'm not mistaken, mostly revolving around Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger, but also involving more action, more effects, and more of the film’s astonishing Wakandan production design. We even get a couple sarcastic lines from Shuri, the character played by Letitia Wright, who recently made quite an impression in Black Mirror’s “Black Museum.”

Just as importantly, we also get a tease here of a new song from Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples, surely set to appear on the film’s Lamar-produced soundtrack. (Another song from the album, “All The Stars,” was released last week.) We’re hungry for this movie, dammit. Roll on February 16th.
