NBC Just Ordered A Mystery Pilot From Robert Zemeckis That Sounds Kinda Like LOST
Here's an interesting thing: according to The Tracking Board, NBC has just ordered up a pilot for a new series called Manifest, from Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Robert Zemeckis. And get this - it sounds a little like LOST.
Here's how The Tracking Board's describing the series:
"In the mystery thriller, from Compari Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television, a plane disappears from radar and returns five years later after being untraceable and presumed lost at sea. No time has passed for those on the plane but, for their loved ones at home, a long five years have gone by. The series follows their personal lives as well as the larger mystery and purpose that is their destiny."
So, you've got a genre series centered around a sprawling cast of characters, a missing airplane and maybe a little time travel? That's not exactly LOST, of course (I see nothing in this description about a glowing cave or polar bears, for instance), but it's close enough to have piqued our interest. Zemeckis' involvement just makes the whole thing that much more interesting.
Nothing further's known about Manifest at this time, but we'll definitely be keeping our ear to the ground for more on this one. While we're waiting, please hit the comments to reminisce about the days when everyone overthought their LOST fan theories.
