Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin And Jane Fonda Are Down To Reboot 9 TO 5

It's enough to drive you crazy (in a good way) if you let it.

According to Deadline, a new version of the classic '80s comedy 9 to 5 is in the works, with Parks And Rec's Rashida Jones the leading candidate to write the film. What's more: Deadline says that original stars Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are all interested in reprising their roles from the original.

Here's the pitch:

"20th Century Fox is in the early stages of a new version that would focus on three young women dealing with sexism and chauvinism in the workplace, who turn to the original trio for help in navigating and getting even with the course male higher-ups."

So, a new set of put-upon young women dealing with a chauvinist boss, and they turn to Parton, Tomlin and Fonda for help executing their revenge against him? We cannot imagine a more timely reboot, and given our love for the original (not to mention our ever-increasing respect for Jones' writing talents), we cannot imagine a reboot we'd be more excited about. The involvement of the film's original stars is key to this thing working, so here's hoping everyone's deals work out and this idea actually comes to fruition.

What do you folks think? Into a new 9 to 5? Excited to see the Holy Triumvirate back on the big screen again? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more on this one as it becomes available. We'll be keeping a close eye on it.
