NIGHTCRAWLER Director Dan Gilroy’s Next Is A Horror-Thriller With An Incredible Cast
We've known for some time that director Dan Gilroy was in the process of reuniting with his former Nightcrawler stars, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, for a brand-new thriller headed straight for Netflix, but beyond those very basic facts there's been little else to go on.
Today, that changes: Variety's got a full cast list for Gilroy's latest, along with a vague plot synopsis and the reveal that the film will be "a horror-thriller". For starters, check out who's starring:
"British actress Zawe Ashton, Stranger Things breakout Natalia Dyer, Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge, Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs, Academy Award nominee Toni Collette, and Academy Award nominee John Malkovich have signed on to join Gyllenhaal and Russo in upcoming horror-thriller."
And what's this horror-thriller gonna be about? Glad you asked:
"The plot follows big-money artists and mega-collectors who pay a high price when art collides with commerce."
This is a flood of good news, but there's actually even more: apparently production has already begun on the project, and Variety says we'll see the film before the end of 2018. A new Gilroy horror-thriller with that cast, landing in the next nine months? We couldn't be more excited about this.
Nothing further to report at this time, but rest assured we will keep you informed as further updates roll in. We're psyched about this one.
