Guy Ritchie To Possibly Make Watchable Movie With TOFF GUYS

Returning to that LOCK STOCK well.

Once upon a time, Guy Ritchie was a director who raised excitement. Then he hit some rough patches. Then, he kept hitting rough patches but with bigger budgets, as we saw this morning with the trailer for Robin Hood 2000. The best he’s been able to muster lately is “Hey! At least it was watchable!”

Maybe a return to his roots might do him some good. According to Deadline, it looks like that’s exactly what’s going to happen once Ritchie is ready to move on from that live-action Aladdin remake. (My cat can’t speak but seriously just said “Wait, are you fucking with me?”)

Apparently, Ritchie will next work on a movie called Toff Guys, which he co-wrote with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson. It’s about a drug lord who tries to sell his illicit empire to billionaires from Oklahoma. I'm sure their depiction will be tasteful.

The idea is to recall the hallmarks of Ritchie’s heyday: crime amongst barely audible scumbags captured with crazy camera moves and rabid edits. To be honest, this is all noise until I learn whether or not Statham’s coming back.
