New Trailer For THE PREDATOR Is a Huge Improvement On The Other Ones
Back in May, 20th Century Fox rolled out the very first trailer for Shane Black's The Predator. We looked upon it and saw that it was...decent, at best? Confusing at worst? Mostly just underwhelming and hopefully not a harbinger of things to come? Response was mixed, you might say.
Then along came a second trailer (a TV spot, really), which our own Jacob Knight raved was "marginally better than the first". It was here that we began openly wondering about the possibility of a bad Shane Black Predator movie, a thing which did not seem possible just a few short months ago. Perhaps 2018 really had struck again.
But then, about a week ago, this writer heard that a new The Predator trailer was en route, one that'd get everyone back on the same page in terms of being excited for Black's movie. Having now seen three The Predator trailers that left audiences scratching their heads, it would be fair to say I was skeptical.
As it turns out, my skepticism was unfounded. This one is an improvement.
See? Much better. Still not perfect, perhaps, but much improved: the plot seems a lot clearer, you get some classic Predator-in-the-jungle action, Keegan-Michael Key rattles off a devastating burn about someone's mom, a giant Predator (prepare yourselves for multiple alien creatures in this movie). We're into it.
Today also brings us a The Predator poster, which balls very hard.
The Predator arrives on September 14th. You hyped about it or not?
