JURASSIC PARK Will Celebrate Its 25th Anniversary in Theaters

We could've used a dino image for this post, but we're better than that.

Heads up: a few copies of BMD's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom magazine are still available for purchase, if you've not picked one up already! Get yours here!

Love or hate the Jurassic World movies, there's no denying that the Jurassic Park franchise is still ragingly popular with moviegoers. Maybe it's the awe that comes with seeing human beings dwarfed by gigantic, majestic creatures; maybe seeing people torn limb-from-limb by rampaging dinos ignites something primal within us. Whatever the case may be, the Jurassic franchise is still going strong, twenty-five years later.

And now the original's making a return: Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park will celebrate its 25th anniversary in style, rolling back into select theaters on three different nights in September (the 16th, the 18th and the 19th). Tickets to these screenings can be purchased via Fathom Events or at participating theater box offices.

And, hey, get this - each screening will include a fun little bonus. Says EW:

"These anniversary screenings of Jurassic Park will include a 17-minute remake of the movie, created by fans around the world. The fan film will showcase fans’ ingenuity and passion, in a similar way as the legendary fan film Raiders! found young fans passionately remaking Spielberg’s first Indiana Jones film."

Pretty nifty!

It goes without saying that the first Jurassic Park remains the best Jurassic movie. It's hard to overstate the seismic impact that film had on pop culture, Hollywood, and blockbuster filmmaking in general. If you weren't around to see the film during its original run in theaters, you really owe it to yourself to get out there and see it on the big screen while you can. One truly has not lived until one has seen a (mostly) shirtless, sweaty Jeff Goldblum on an enormous screen in a darkened theater.

You folks gonna come out for this or what? Sound off below.
