So, Henry Cavill Responded To That SUPERMAN Story, And…Uh…

We have no idea what to make of this.

A quick recap: first thing this morning, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Henry Cavill and the DCU were going their separate ways. Whatever went on behind the scenes (allegedly something to do with a dispute regarding a possible Superman cameo in Shazam!), the end result was that Cavill was hanging up his Superman spurs once and for all.

Shortly thereafter, Deadline reported that Warner Bros. was thinking about hiring Michael B. Jordan to play the big, blue boy scout. As you might expect, this development caused a great deal of spirited debate between people who know a good idea when they hear one and, well, the same kind of people who really don't want Idris Elba to play James Bond (if you catch our drift).

And then - yeah, we're not through yet, buckle up - Warner Bros. released a statement saying:

"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged."

Curiously absent from all this back-and-forth? Henry Cavill. Until now.

Yeah, we have no idea what's going on here, either. But, honestly, whatever it is? Hilarious.

Your mileage may vary on that front, of course. You may find nothing funny about a bunch of conflicting reports, half-ass denials, and Henry Cavill listening to dogs sing him a song while holding a Superman action figure and staring down a camera. But speaking as someone who had to write about this shit all day, lemme tell ya - it's very funny.

But that's just my opinion. You folks can let us know where you stand on all this in the comments below.
