We Regret To Inform You That Chelsea Peretti Is Leaving BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
While we are all very happy that Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s untimely demise was swiftly saved by NBC, the show’s sixth season is still taking a hit. Chelsea Peretti has announced on Twitter that she will be leaving the show at some point in the new season:
B99 fans. Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Chelsea Peretti, here. I won't be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji. I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina:

To be fair, Peretti’s Gina was missing for large chunks of season five due to maternity leave. Though her insane character is one of the show’s highlights, the ensemble remained strong enough (maybe the strongest currently on television) that the loss wasn’t as painful as it could have been. I imagine that’ll remain the case in season six. Plus, Peretti even admits she might come back now and then! So it’s not all bad!
In the meantime, we still have season six to look forward to. NBC recently upped its order from 13 to 18 episodes, which should bring a smile to everyone’s heart as this remains one of the best comedies on television. And to think we came so close to losing it.
