The First Plot Details Of Jordan Peele’s US Have Leaked

Hmmm. What's Peele up to this time?

Jordan Peele and company have been playing their cards very close to the vest on Us, Peele's highly-anticipated follow-up to last year's Get Out. We've been told that, much like that Oscar-winning film, Us would be something of a socially-conscious horror/thriller, but beyond that ... well, there hasn't been much to go on.

Until today! Our friends over at Slashfilm have confirmed, via two separate sources, that the plot synopsis below is legit, and has been attached to various test screening invites for Peele's latest. Here's what it says:

"A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited."

On the surface, the synopsis above makes Us sounds like a home invasion type deal - a little bit Mother!, a little bit The Strangers. It also sounds like they're being intentionally vague, so chances are there's much more to this one than meets the eye; Peele's latest is probably playing a completely different game than those movies.

Anyway, we're very intrigued about all this, and eager to learn more. Good news is, we probably won't be waiting much longer: with test screenings underway and a March 15th release date firmly in place, we should be getting further details (and a trailer) in the very near future.

Stay tuned for more on Us as further updates become available.
