Netflix’s POLAR Is Basically JOHN WICK But With Mads Mikkelsen

I don't know much in this mixed-up, crazy world, but I do know this: if you make a John Wick knock-off starring Mads Mikkelsen as an assassin named "The Black Kaiser", put him in an eyepatch, and set him loose on a bunch of crooks who are just begging to be shot in the face, guess what?

I'm going to watch the everloving shit out of your movie.

This is the first trailer for Jonas Åkerlund's Polar, which hits Netflix on January 25th. The trailer's not great (I'm getting a strong "style over substance" vibe here, and not necessarily in the good way), but like I said up top: this is an assassins-versus-assassins movie starring Mads Mikkelsen in an eyepatch. Mediocre trailer or not, I'm gonna watch this thing the moment it becomes available. 

Here's an official plot synopsis:

"The world’s top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser (Mads Mikkelsen), is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced."

Co-starring Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick, Matt Lucas, Johnny Knoxville, and Richard Dreyfuss (!!!) and based on the Victor Santos graphic novel of the same name, Polar will be along in a matter of weeks.
