Sounds Like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Will Use James Gunn’s Screenplay, After All

From Star Lord's lips to your ears.

There's been so much back and forth over Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, you may've forgotten where we left off. A quick dip into the BMD archives reveals that, last we heard, James Gunn was officially not getting his old job back, and Guardians star Dave Bautista was threatening to walk away from the project if they didn't at least use Gunn's already-completed screenplay for the film.

Well, if another Guardian of The Galaxy is to be believed, Bautista's probably got nothing to worry about. In a new interview, MTV straight up asks Pratt if they'll be working from Gunn's script, and Pratt says "Yeah" (Pratt also says the script is "off the chain"). MTV goes on to ask how he feels about moving forward on a third Guardians without Gunn at the helm, and offers a heartfelt response:

“Well, I love James. I’m loyal to James and I love him so much. And we’re going to deliver the movie and we’re going to give fans the movie they deserve. And I think it’s in the nature of the Guardians of the Galaxy to come together and get the job done. And that’s what we’ll do.”

Look, I know certain corners of social media have taken to dunking on Chris Pratt, and I know that we literally just saw proof that my man is still out here using the phrase "off the chain", but I still like this dude, and particularly respect his response above. If it feels like the Guardians of The Galaxy are a family to us after watching two movies, just imagine how close those people must be after making those movies together. You can't help but feel for everyone involved.

Anyway, assuming Pratt's speaking the truth here, we're encouraged to know that Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will use Gunn's script. Now they've just gotta find someone who can direct the hell out of it (and who, unlike Taika Waititi, isn't bothered about stepping into Gunn's shoes). Who's your pick? Sound off below.
