Jason Momoa Will Also Be In DUNE, If You Can Dig It

YEAYUHH!

The cast of Denis Villeneuve's Dune just keeps getting cooler and cooler, and according to The Wrap, it's about to get a healthy dose of MY MAN Jason Momoa. The artist formerly known as Khal Drogo and also sometimes known as Aquaman is in talks to star in the new adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic from the filmmaker behind Arrival and Sicario. Per the latest report, he'll be playing a guy named Duncan Idaho – which is the most Momoa-sounding character name ever. If this were the ’90s, it'd be the most Keanu Reeves-sounding name ever, but the ’90s are dead, along with your hopes and dreams.

Dune is, for those unaware despite the numerous casting developments in recent weeks, set in the future where planets are vying for a highly-coveted and valuable resource known as "spice melange." The Atreides family has accepted the responsibility of overseeing the planet Arrakis, where the spice is located. Our young hero is Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, whose family is betrayed, leaving him to lead a rebellion to protect the precious spice. Momoa's role is that of a skilled swordsman who teaches Paul how to battle. He's also the right-hand man of the Duke. Momoa is the latest in a long line of awesome names to join the cast of Dune, which also stars Javier Bardem, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, and Josh Brolin.
