Edgar Wright Recruits Matt Smith & Thomasin McKenzie For LAST NIGHT IN SOHO

This cast is shaping up nicely.

Edgar Wright's next film, Last Night In Soho, has just tripled its confirmed cast. According to Variety, Matt Smith and Thomasin McKenzie are in talks to join the film, and they're definitely strong choices.

Smith, obviously, is best known for his starring run in Doctor Who, and is currently Emmy-nominated for The Crown. Kiwi actress McKenzie recently blew us all away in Debra Granik's superb homelessness drama Leave No Trace, and will next be seen in Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit. Both should make for interesting results, given the film's genre, its director, and its other confirmed cast member Anya Taylor-Joy.

Otherwise, Last Night In Soho is a film we really don't know much about. We know it's a psychological horror film inspired by the likes of Repulsion and Don't Look Now. We know it's written by Wright and Penny Dreadful's Krysty Wilson-Cairns. We know it's set in the Soho district in central London. And...that's it. All of that sounds great, though, and we're super excited to see Wright take on a more straight-up psychological horror, given his demonstrated mastery of horror's more comedic side.

Last Night In Soho will come out when it's good and ready, dammit.
