(Almost) Everybody’s Coming Back For A QUIET PLACE 2

Ssssshhhhhh.

Well, after much back and forth, it appears to be official: John Krasinski is coming back to direct the sequel to 2018's A Quiet Place, and Deadline reports that Emily Blunt has closed a deal to star in the film. The film goes into production this July, with an already-established release date in May of next year.

Hearing that Krasinski's coming back to direct isn't terribly shocking; that's seemed likely for a while now. Emily Blunt returning is somewhat surprising, however. All this time, we'd kinda been operating under the assumption that A Quiet Place 2 would focus on a completely different cast of characters, perhaps one of the other survivors hinted at in the original. Blunt coming back indicates this is probably more of a direct continuation of the first film, which ... well, your mileage may vary, but we'd prefer something a little less obvious.

But, hey - we'll get over it. The first A Quiet Place was an absolute blast, and we'd be lying if we said we weren't interested in spending more time within that weird-ass world. Do whatever you want with it, Krasinski! We'll be there when A Quiet Place 2 (or possible A Quiet Place: Part II) opens on May 15th, 2020.
