Dear God, Is There Going To Be A BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Sequel?
This is probably bullshit. In fact, it sounds a whole lot like bullshit. But it must be shared. If something awful is headed your way, it’s best to see it first through binoculars.
The Playlist is reporting the possibility of a heinous horizon. Apparently, there is an interview out there with Rudi Dolezal, a Queen music video director who is still very close to the band. According to Rudi, there are discussions happening now about how one might make a sequel to Bohemian Rhapsody. Specifically, the sequel would begin with Live Aid and go from there. So instead of starting horrible but ending with the best part, this one would start with the best part and then Benjamin Button its way to perhaps the worst film ever made.
It’s funny because Bohemian Rhapsody made it seem like Freddy Mercury walked off the Live Aid stage and basically died. Now we’re looking at a movie that must acknowledge that false history and, I assume, check in on how Freddy Mercury looked at a field and suddenly wrote A Kind of Magic, The Miracle, Innuendo and Made in Heaven. Maybe the song they make fun of this time will be “All Dead, All Dead” which wasn’t on any of those albums but no one will care.
I get it. Bohemian Rhapsody was very successful and popular and people probably want to wrap Rami Malek around those teeth again regardless of logic. They’ll probably have to get a new director though. I recommend Woody Allen. Both in terms of included controversy and love for Queen, he seems about right.
