Hans Zimmer Will Score Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE

OK, so now we know it's gonna sound great, too.

Yesterday, we learned that Denis Villeneuve's Dune had finally started shooting (with a planned release date in November of next year), and there was much rejoicing. It's finally happening! The cast is great! Spice shots for everyone!

Well, in all that excitement, we missed one final announcement: Hans Zimmer, who recently scored Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 and is the man responsible for Christopher Nolan's iconic BWAAAAM sound, will also be scoring Dune. Zimmer's a helluva talent, and bringing him onto the project is just the latest sign that the folks bankrolling Dune aren't effing around - they really seem determined to do this one up right.

As we reported yesterday, Dune will star Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Stephen Henderson, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, and Chang Chen. Villeneuve co-wrote the film's script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts, and Greig Fraser (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will be handling cinematography.

Nothing further to report at this time, but we are very hyped to learn that Zimmer's joined the production. Is it too early to get Mondo working on a 4XLP vinyl set?

Denis Villeneuve's Dune hits theaters on November 20th, 2020.
