You Might Not Even Still Be Alive When All These Disney Movies Hit Theaters

New Marvel movies! Indiana Jones! More release dates than you can shake a stick at!

Eventually, we will measure the Earth’s revolutions not with months, but with Disney release dates. In their latest batch of upcoming releases, from now until 2027, Disney has marked down dates for new Star Wars movies, the Fox films that they haven’t cancelled, and of course, way too many live-action remakes. Here’s an easy-to-digest breakdown of their current calendar:

Marvel Studios

  • May 1, 2020Untitled Marvel
  • November 6, 2020Untitled Marvel
  • February 12, 2021Untitled Marvel
  • May 7, 2021- Untitled Marvel
  • November 5, 2021 - Untitled Marvel
  • February 18, 2022 Untitled Marvel
  • May 6, 2022 Untitled Marvel
  • July 29, 2022 – Untitled Marvel

There’s no official information about what these untitled films will be, but the Marvel films we know are in the stages of production include: Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Both Bob Iger and Kevin Feige has gone on record saying the Fox Marvel properties will be overseen by Marvel Studios at some point in the future, so some of these dates may include a new Deadpool film or X-Men reboot, although I heavily doubt the latter.

Pixar/Walt Disney Animation Studios

Live-Action Disney

  • December 23, 2020  – Cruella
  • March 12, 2021Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • May 28, 2021 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • July 30, 2021Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • October 8, 2021 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • May 27, 2022 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • July 8, 2022 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • October 7, 2022 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • November 4, 2022 - Untitled Disney Live-Action
  • February 17, 2023 - Untitled Disney Live-Action

Keep in mind, the Untitled Disney Live-Actions are not all remakes, and some may very well be original features or adaptations. But most of them are probably remakes, and that makes my stomach hurt.

Avatar/Fox

  • 4/3/20 – The New Mutants
  • 12/18/20 – West Side Story
  • 12/17/21 – Avatar 2
  • 12/22/23 – Avatar 3
  • 12/19/25 – Avatar 4
  • 12/17/27 – Avatar 5

As you can see, Disney’s also hoping to have more Avatar sequels than FDR had Presidential terms. The New Mutants has gotten delayed for the third time (remember folks, Josh Boone’s superhero-horror film was originally supposed to be released on April 13, 2018). No sign of Channing Tatum’s Gambit.
