Gaze Upon New Photos From THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE
It's been several months since Netflix and the Jim Henson Company revealed the first photos from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The upcoming prequel series, which features an unbelievably stacked voice cast, began filming back in November 2017. Because the series – like the original film – is using puppets, that production process has been rather lengthy, and understandably so. I mean, just behold these new photos, which are pretty damn stunning:
Directed and executive-produced by Louis Leterrier, the 10-episode prequel series takes viewers back to the world of Thra, and follows three Gelflings as they make a life-altering discovery about the Skeksis' power – setting into motion a chain of events that lead to an incredible rebellion. Those Gelflings are named Rian, Deet, and Brea, and they're voiced by Taron Egerton, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Anya-Taylor Joy, respectively. But those names are just the tip of iceberg in what is a ridiculous ensemble that also includes Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Ineson, Natalie Dormer, Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Eddie Izzard, Jason Isaacs, Toby Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Keegan-Michael Key, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Hannah John-Kamen, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, and many – many – more.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance still doesn't have an official premiere date, but we imagine it'll hit Netflix sometime later this year.
