SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Is The Final Film Of Marvel’s Infinity Saga

In a recent interview to promote Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige had some choice words to describe the Homecoming sequel:

“We've been working for many years on Infinity War and Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Those were the films that were culminating the entire Infinity Saga of the MCU. And as we were working on Endgame we realized that the true end of the entire Infinity Saga, the final film of Phase 3, had to be Spider-Man: Far From Home, because—spoiler—we lose Tony Stark at the end of Endgame… The relationship between Peter Parker and Tony Stark is so special…”

Now, one would think that the film that has End in the title, a sprawling cast of characters to befit a saga, and which features (spoilers, duh) the destruction of the Infinity Stones would be the culmination of the “Infinity Saga”. But that isn’t so according to Marvel Studios’ master plan. According to Feige, the story of a kid from Queens going on a field trip is how we’ll really get a conclusion to this galaxy-spanning, time-bending epic.

Obviously, we should take Feige’s comments at face value. Spider-Man’s European Vacation: The Infinity Saga Finale has always been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe outline, and the writing of the films definitely supports this intention. There’s no way this is just a promotional line to help translate the residual Endgame hype into revenue for Far From Home and justify FFH’s place in the (thus far unconfirmed) Phase 3/“Infinity Saga” box sets.

Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out July 2 in the US of A. That gives you just over a week to rewatch the entire MCU filmography, so you can get maximum satisfaction when Far From Home wraps up all the narrative threads.
