The Russo Brothers Are Bringing, Uh, Something To SDCC

It's almost definitely AVENGERS related.

Standby for a presumably important and, yes, mildly baffling update from the official Twitter account of Joe and Anthony Russo, better known as the dynamic duo behind Avengers: Infinity War and this year's Avengers: Endgame:

As you can see, this video prominently features a "7/19/2019" tag, which means that whatever the Russo Brothers are planning to unleash, it'll happen one day into this year's SDCC. Rumors have long swirled that Marvel Studios might be assembling the Avengers "one last time" for this year's SDCC, but until now there's been no indication that the appearance might include anything beyond a photo opp/victory lap. The video above seems to suggest that's not the case.

So what might be the Russo Bros. be bringing to SDCC? Well, Avengers: Endgame hits Blu-ray and digital in the weeks after SDCC. Doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that they'd show off a new deleted scene or a little bonus clip. Maybe it's all an elaborate switcheroo, and we're due to see some new 21 Bridges footage. Maybe they'll just auction Robert Downey Jr. off to someone in the crowd. You don't know. We don't know. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't recklessly speculate in the comments below.

Please do so now, and stay tuned for more SDCC coverage than you can handle, starting next week.

Note: We have edited this post to remove the incorrect Blu-ray release date of July 20th. The author of this post says he isn't sure why he thought the Avengers: Endgame Blu-ray was dropping on July 20th, but he has been sternly informed of his error. He will now be taken to Gnarfle the Garthok.
