Hear A Full Track From Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ WATCHMEN Score

Missed WATCHMEN? Wanna know what it sounds like? We gotchu.

As you've surely noticed by now, we're big fans of HBO's Watchmen, and extra big fans of the score Oscar-winning composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross created for Damon Lindelof's awesome new series. Indeed, when the premiere wrapped, one of our very first questions was, "OK, but when can we purchase that soundtrack?"

We received an answer the following morning: all three volumes of the Watchmen score will be available for purchase by the end of the year, with a new volume arriving every few weeks starting next month (you can read more about the soundtrack's release via this link). That's good news! Exciting news! And yet, we still wished we had something to listen to in the meantime. Perhaps that pulsating, Hotline Miami-esque number that played over the end credits?

Friends, the Music Gods have smiled upon us this day.

This is the full version of the tune that plays over the end credits on Watchmen's premiere episode. You get the credits and the song just as it originally aired, but then you also get a few more minutes' worth of bonus material. It's a helluva tune (if my understanding of current internet/Millennial slang is correct, this is what's known as a "bop"), and indicative of Reznor and Ross' work on the series as a whole. For my money, it's the best soundtrack work this pair has done since The Social Network - high energy, driving, funky and just a little bit sinister. I cannot wait to own three volumes' worth of these jams.

Anyway, we thought it'd be prudent, as some of y'all have yet to see Watchmen and were surely curious to know what it sounded like. Now you know, and now you've got one more reason to renew that HBO Go subscription so you can watch Watchmen. You're welcome.
