The WONDER WOMAN 1984 Trailer Is Here To Whip Up Some Fun

Steve Trevor can’t tell art from a trashcan.

A lot has changed since the first Wonder Woman film took the world by storm a couple years ago. It’s really not that much time but it seems like forever. Long enough that I almost forgot how charming that film was simply by virtue of having likable characters, which was novel for DC movies at the time.

Now DC is all about likability and charm. One of their heroes is literally a child. Another is a heavy metal Indiana Jones type. Nevertheless, here comes Wonder Woman to reaffirm her status as the best of DC’s big screen heroes. Helping her along is this delightful trailer:

Patty Jenkins has traded the drab horrors of WWI for the bright nightmare of America in the ‘80s. Some thematic work is being done here as the villainous plot appears to involve Pedro Pascal (most recently not seen in The Mandalorian) raising hell by giving people everything they think they want - including old, long-dead boyfriends, apparently.

Look, I’m in. I love seeing these two lovebirds together again, I’m excited to see what we’re getting with Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, and I’m super into all the weird shit Wonder Woman is doing with her whip here.

What do you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments below. Wonder Woman 1984 opens June 5.
