MULAN, ANTLERS And THE NEW MUTANTS Have Been Removed From Disney’s Release Schedule

Following No Time to Die's move to November, Fast & Furious 9 moving to next year, and A Quite Place Part II's indefinite delay, Disney has stepped into the fray to announce that it's postponing the release of three films it had set to release between now and the end of April: Niki Caro's Mulan (previously scheduled to open March 27th), Scott Cooper's Antlers (scheduled to open April 17th) and Josh Boone's perpetually-delayed The New Mutants (which would've opened on April 3rd). Cate Shortland's Black Widow, opening May 1st, appears to be staying right where it is, but who knows what tomorrow will bring? Or next week? Honestly, there's a lot that can't even remotely be predicted right now. 

This is the third "Movie X Has Been Delayed by Coronavirus" post we've run today and, quite frankly, we're running out of things to say about these delays. The world at large is getting hammered by this pandemic, with Disneyland shuttering its doors, schools closing (or experiencing extra-long Spring Breaks), Broadway going dark, film festivals getting canceled, and conventions all over the country getting postponed or called off completely. It's a surreal, troubling thing to witness, and I'm not entirely sure what to say beyond that. Let's hope all of this gets brought under control sooner rather than later, that everyone stays safe, and that things don't get markedly worse.
