Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks Meets The Universal Monsters
Wolfman, the Bride and Dracula get some coffee at Karloff’s.
Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks is one of the most famous and most recognizable American paintings. It’s also one of the most parodied and riffed on, but this is the first version I know of that replaces the people in Hopper’s diner with the Universal Monsters. And thus this is the best parody of Nighthawks ever.
The painting, called Night at Karloff’s, is by Erika Taguchi-Newton, and it’s available as a print here.
