Check Out This Cool Trailer For A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT

We appear to be getting cool vampire movies again, you guys!

There are all kinds of interesting things happening in this trailer for Ana Lily Amirpour’s A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. You have that Jim Jarmusch coolness at play, a noticeably Western music score, an obvious horror hook, and lots of Iranian elements as well.

This means we don’t really know what kind of movie we’re getting, but it has a vampire and certainly looks like something special. People have been saying great things about this one, and I can’t wait to see it to figure out exactly what’s going on behind all that pretty black and white cinematography. And I don’t even like vampires that much!

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night will get a limited release starting November 21 with an expansion to follow some time later. Here is the film’s synopsis:

Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. Cinema’s first Iranian vampire western, Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut feature basks in the sheer pleasure of pulp. A joyful mash-up of genre, archetype, and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave. Amped by a mix of Iranian rock, techno, and Morricone-inspired riffs, its airy, anamorphic, black-and-white aesthetic and artfully drawn-out scenes combine the simmering tension of Sergio Leone with the weird surrealism of David Lynch.

It’s usually a bad sign when films get compared to David Lynch, so I'm just going to pretend I didn't read that.
