I sort of fell in love with the simple but effective horror offered by Cub when it played Fantastic Fest last year. That was in September. You’ll get a chance to finally see the film in what will be almost a year from that fateful day. The film comes out on home video and all the other stuff August 18 thanks to Artsploitation Films.

You can of course read my linked review, or you can just read this: Cub is awesome. There isn’t a ton to it, but it gets the job done without any messing about. And aside from heavy-handed metaphors, that’s exactly what I want from my horror.

The above trailer does a good job of setting you up for what happens in Cub, including looks at many of the film's kills (but not all!), so if you’re squeamish about spoilers, you might want to stay away. I don’t think this is a movie you need to be careful about in that regard, however.
