The Canon Episode 62: OLDBOY
This article is late! The episode has been up since Monday, but I was in London and busy and jet lagged and totally forgot to put this up. Sorry!
So maybe you've already listened to this episode. But if you wait for the show to pop up here on the site - here it is! This week we tackle Oldboy, the Park Chan-Wook film that put South Korean cinema on the mainstream map and that probably changed the movie-watching habits of more than a few of you. So yes, I think it's another 'slam dunk' for The Canon. Fight me about it.
There are still a couple of days left to vote for the movie, so go here and do so!
We have just made our plans for the next episode of The Canon Commentaries on howl.fm - the subscription service that's like a Netflix of podcasts, and where you can hear our monthly commentary tracks - and it looks like we'll be doing the 1933 King Kong. It's much shorter than the last two films (Goodfellas and Star Wars: A New Hope) which are both available on the service now. It's five bucks a month - cheap! - but if you want to test it out before subscribing you can use checkout code CANON to get one free month. Go to howl.fm for more!
Be back next week for a discussion of O Brother Where Art Thou? (which I will post on this site in a timely manner). In the meantime - rate and review us, and share us with your friends!
