Here’s Our First Look At Craig Macneill’s Lizzie Borden Movie

Starring Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny, no less.

According to The Playlist, today's the last day of principal photography on Craig Macneill's Lizzie, an upcoming psychological thriller that'll dramatize the series of events that led up to the infamous double axe murder carried out by the titular Ms. Borden.

First of all, let's take a moment to appreciate how great a Craig Macneill-directed Lizzie Borden movie sounds. If you're not all-in for that action, you probably haven't caught up with The Boy or Channel Zero: Candle Cove, in which case you should take the upcoming weekend to reexamine your life choices.

Secondly, to celebrate the final day of shooting, Macneill and company released our first look at the film. You can see it in the unreasonably wide photo below.

You can see Kristen Stewart on the center-left, sulking up a storm in the background. You might think she's playing Lizzie Borden, but you'd be wrong: that role's gone to Chloe Sevigny, seen on the right. Stewart's playing a maid by the name of Bridget Sullivan.

Here's how The Playlist describes the film:

"(Lizzie) is a gothic psychological thriller that explores the events that led up to the notorious murders of the Borden family — and reveals the many layers of the strange, fragile woman who stood accused of their brutal murder. When Bridget Sullivan, a young maid, comes to work for the Borden family, Lizzie finds a sympathetic and kindred spirit, and what begins as innocent companionship eventually escalates into attraction, love and bloody vengeance."

Lizzie is set for a 2017 release, and we're pretty pumped about it. Stay tuned for more on this one as it becomes available.
