Chris Rock Will Headline The Next Season of FARGO

Here's an unexpected turn of events: according to Deadline, FX has announced that Chris Rock will headline the fourth season of Noah Hawley's Fargo, where he'll be playing the head of a crime family. In a not surprising move, the show's fourth season will relocate the series to a new locale (in this case, Kansas City) and a new time period (the 1950's).

Deadline has further details on the plot:

"Essentially the locale will serve as the crossroads and collisions of two migrations, Italians coming from Italy and African Americans fleeing the south to escape Jim Crow, both fighting for a piece of the American dream as two controlling crime syndicates. They are at an uneasy peace controlling an alternate economy of exploitation, graft and drugs. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons.

Whoa. That sounds like it has the potential to be explosive. Seems like a safe assumption, too, given Fargo's previous seasons and the involvement of Rock, who offered the following on his latest gig:

“I’m a fan of Fargo and I can’t wait to work with Noah."

Rock's rarely a man of few words, but we can understand that being the case in this situation: lord knows Hawley wouldn't want him spilling any secrets on the series.
