Please Enjoy Two New Photos And An Official Plot Synopsis From CREED II

We're very nervous about this one.

Creed II arrives in theaters on November 21st, and I'm finding it difficult to think of another 2018 film the BMD staff is more concerned about.

The first film - directed, you'll recall, by Black Panther's Ryan Coogler - was one of the best films of the past decade, and told a story we were all happy to see continued in further sequels. But then Creed II lost Coogler as director (Stephen Caple Jr. eventually stepped up to the plate), and rumors began to swirl that Sylvester Stallone was gonna take Donny Creed back to Russia (presumably to fight the son of the big-ass Russkie who killed his pops), and then the film's underwhelming first trailer arrived, and ... well, look, we're just not so sure this is a good idea, gang.

Anyway, today brings two new photos and an official plot synopsis, the latter of which makes explicit what we feared all along:

"Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family's past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what's worth fighting for, and discover that nothing's more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can't escape your history."

Please, God, do not let Creed II suck.
