Netflix’s THE DARK CRYSTAL Now Has A Release Date
Yesterday, Britt brought us a look at four new images from Netflix's forthcoming Dark Crystal series. We looked upon them and saw that they were good ("good" in this case meaning "simultaneously beautiful and creepy, in the grand tradition of Dark Crystal puppet designs"). Today, we've got even more new photos, along with a premiere date for the highly-anticipated series.
First, the photos:
So, these look pretty great! I'm particularly intrigued by that action shot, which seems to feature...an explosion of some sort? Mortar fire? Whatever's going on there has my interest piqued. But then, so do all of these photos: I grew up in a Labyrinth household, one where The Dark Crystal was more or less ignored at the time of release, and I'm eager to find out what's going on in this weird-looking world. I'm also just super impressed by the quality of this production: this thing looks mega-expensive.
Good news is, I won't have to wait much longer to see it: according to the press release we just received, Netflix's The Dark Crystal will hit that streaming service on August 30th, 2019. Featuring a killer cast (including Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong and Alicia Vikander) and effects created by the Jim Henson Company, this is one of our most anticpated shows of the summer. Y'all as excited as we are? Sound off in the comments below.
