DUNE: THE SISTERHOOD - Denis Villeneuve To Bring Us A Whole DUNE Streaming Series

Everybody stay calm and read carefully.

As we all know, super-director Denis Villeneuve is already going HAM on part one of an assumed two-part Dune adaptation for the big screen. The cast looks superb so far, and all indicators point to Villeneuve feeling free to get weird as hell with it. That’s all fine and dandy.

And Villeneuve has shit to do, so you’d think once he’s done with his two Dune films (or maybe just the one), he’ll go off to his next thing. Apparently not. Deep breath here…

WanerMedia Streaming, a streaming service you don’t need to know about because by the time you memorize that sexy title, it’ll already be owned by a streaming service you’re already familiar with, will host a new Dune series called Dune: The Sisterhood. We’re not done with that breath yet…

Dune: The Sisterhood will be a prequel series focused on the Bene Gesserit. If you don’t know what that is, you will once you see Dune, don’t worry. They’re cool. A potential problem, and I’m speaking mostly from ignorance here, is that this would be a prequel not based on anything written by Frank Herbert (though I believe some of the Brian Herbert stuff may get into it). That doesn’t sound super exciting. But don’t let that breath out yet…

The show’s pilot will be directed by none other than Villeneuve, so there’s an automatic cred refill right there. Jon Spaihts is set to write and he’s no slouch either. Both will help with executive producing.

Okay, breathe. This is basically all we know currently, but it is a lot to take in all at once. I think it’s safe to say we’re all going to be living in a very Dune future. And it’ll be an interesting one if the first movie doesn’t do well. But hey, people love super weird space epics, right?
