FLASH Lives! IT’s Andy Muschietti In Talks To Direct

This is taking an ironic amount of time.

For a movie about the fastest man alive, it sure is taking a long time for WB to get their Flash movie together. But hey, it’s worth the wait if they get it right.

And in that spirit, it looks like a major course correction is now occurring with the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this thing is still happening with the Ezra Miller version of the Flash. But now, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are out as directors. Their script is out, too. So is the script Miller apparently wrote with Grant Morrison.

Instead, WB is now in talks with ITs Andy Muschietti to direct a script from Bumblebee and Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson. Whoa.

This isn’t a done deal yet, but for the same of irresponsible speculation, let’s assume it is. Because it probably is.

Actually, speculation is difficult as we know so little about what the former version of this film was to be. Clearly, WB is shying away from the Snyder vision of the DCEU but trying to make do with whatever pieces of it can still remain. So, sure, there’s really no reason why they can’t reinvent Miller’s Flash as likable.

What an interesting thing this has become. We got a largely unsatisfying Justice League movie filled with heroes who get improved or replaced later, hopefully to make way for an actually great sequel. I don’t know about you, but I am dying to see Shazam hang out with Aquaman.
