SDCC 2019: The Russo Bros. Are Producing Michael B. Jordan’s THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR Remake

Remember that project? Still happening, apparently!

OK, so, yes, we had a little bit of fun with the Russo Bros.' Hall H panel, but now it's time to get down to serious business: as just revealed at SDCC, the directorial duo have added yet another project to their already stacked plate - they'll be producing the Thomas Crown Affair remake, starring Black Panther's Michael B. Jordan.

What Thomas Crown Affair remake starring Michael B. Jordan, you ask?

Well, all the way back in 2016, word spread that Jordan would headline a new take on the property for MGM. In the years since, we hadn't heard anything about the film, and assumed that it was yet another in a long line of Hollywood projects that simply failed to materialize. The Russos taking on the remake confirms that it's still very much in play...and now, in addition to one helluva leading man, they've got the directors of the almost-biggest-movie of all time onboard to produce.

For those unfamiliar with the 1968 original (or its stellar 1999 remake, which you should absolutely seek out if you've never seen it), The Thomas Crown Affair concerns a cat and mouse game between a skilled art thief, the investigator who's been tasked with bringing him down, and the unlikely romance that develops between the pair. Wonder who they'll get to star opposite Jordan.

You can speculate on that in the comments below, and we'll keep you informed of any further Thomas Crown Affair updates as they roll in. We're excited for this one, how 'bout y'all?
