John Cena Might Be Joining The SUICIDE SQUAD Sequel
Once again proving that he might very well be cooler than The Rock (don't @ me), John Cena is in talks to join the cast of Suicide Squad 2. Variety reported on the latest casting news for the upcoming sequel/reboot/whatever the heck they want to call this thing, which is being written and directed by James Gunn before he's re-absorbed by the MCU. Cena will be playing... someone. Probably a member of the Suicide Squad, but maybe a villain for all we know – and it might be cool to see Cena back in heel mode. In fact, little is known about the upcoming sequel, aside from the fact that Jai Courtney is blessing us with his return as Captain Boomerang and Margot Robbie is reprising her role as the scene-stealing Harley Quinn (something that was previously uncertain). Idris Elba is also on board to smoke up this joint as a mysterious new character who is most definitely not Deadshot, but is probably very hot because it's Idris Elba and that's how he works. The plot of the sequel is like that of your average superhero ensemble movie: These knuckleheads have to team up, despite their wild and crazy differences, to stop a major villain. In the case of Suicide Squad, it was a super-powered witch whose only real crime appeared to be a lack of access to waterproof mascara. (Even though we all know the real villain of Suicide Squad was Jared Leto's nonsense.)
